On August 11, 1979, John Cardinal Krol announced the name change of Bishop Neumann High School to Saint John Neumann High School. Hence, the third chapter of The Millay Club, the Alumni Association of Southeast Catholic - Bishop Neumann - Saint John Neumann High School began.

One definite link between Bishop Neumann High School and Saint John Neumann High School was the presence of Rev. Martin A. Frigo, O.Praem as moderator of the Millay Club. As the longest term moderator of The Millay Club, Fr. Frigo has had a profound impact on The Millay Club, and was made honorary member of the alumni association.

In 1982, The Millay Club suffered from the loss of another close comrade, Rev. George J. Feider, O.Praem. In his memory, The Millay Club along with the Norbertine Community at the school established the Fr. Feider Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships and grants are given to incoming freshman for both outstanding academic achievement and need.

The Pirate Club Hall of Fame was established by the alumni association in 1982. Each year, as part of the Lettermen's Banquet, a select group of alumni are inducted into The Pirate Club.

This organization recognizes former athletes, athletic directors, managers, trainers, team physicians, and all others who have distinguished themselves through athletic achievement or dedication to the varsity sports program at the high school.

Beginning in 1982, the Board of Directors re-instated active membership in The Millay Club. Active members are issued to alumni who contribute active membership dues.

Another ambitious project undertaken by the Millay Club was the creation of the McNichol Athletic Field. One square block of property (25th to 26th Streets, Mifflin to Moore Streets) has been donated by Dennis McNichol '38 and Ed McNichol '39 to Saint John Neumann High School. Beginning in 1984, the McNichol Field Committee organized a person-to-person appeal in order to raise $1 million to assure the adequate development and care of the grounds. This project is a tribute to all whose dedication and resources will provide for a better facility for the students of Saint John Neumann High School.

In 1984, Southeast Catholic-Bishop Neumann-Saint John Neumann High School celebrated its Golden Jubilee amid a year of festivities.

The current leadership of The Millay Club represents graduates from a school with three names but one spirit. From its meager start, The Millay Club now has over 22,000 members. The reputation of Southeast Catholic-Bishop Neumann-Saint John Neumann High School is a proud one, and every alumnus shares in this pride. As the School and The Millay Club approach their 60th Anniversary, we look forward to maintaining our fine tradition of educational excellence in South Philadelphia.
